Location-Aware Beamforming for MIMO-Enabled UAV Communications: An Unknown Input Observer Approach

Numerous communications and networking challenges prevent deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in extreme environments where the existing wireless technologies are mainly ground-focused; and, as a consequence, air-to-air channel for UAVs is not fully covered. In this paper, we address crucial problem of beamforming UAV-based by utilizing spatial estimation algorithm, which relies on theory observers control systems literature. The proposed algorithm using delay-tolerant observer-based predictor, can accurately predict positions target presence uncertainties due to factors such wind gust. solution, uses discrete-time unknown input (UIOs), reduces joint detection communication complication notably operating same device performs reliably blockage interference. effectiveness approach demonstrated simulation results.
